Gene's
Cigar ratings of the Month

Gene has on of the
most extensive cigar collections I have seen...over 500 cigars, categorized,
filed and stored in perfect order as only a true aficionado could manage. I
have seen Gene's collection first hand and I have to say it is impressive.

Gene Says:
A well made cigar with a medium
dark 'Brownie' wrapper that has a very neat clean seam and minor veins
overall. A little on the spongy side as far as the construction goes but it
lights well and has a moderately stiff draw that gives ample amounts of
smoke. The first few draws are a bit bitter like strong coffee but this very
soon mellows to a decent coffee bean flavor with hints of woodiness and
nuttiness. There are some vague nuances hiding in the aftertaste of leather
and spice. As the cigar progresses it pulls out a bit more of the bitter
cocoa flavor as it mellows. The burn is dependent on how you smoke it. Too
fast and it will burn loop sided, to slow and it will go out. The ash has
decent holding qualities, are nearly white on the outside and a light gray
on the inside. The finish is a bit bitter but leaves a mild aftertaste on
the palate. The aroma fills the room with a coffee house smell of baking
chocolate and strong fresh coffee with woody undertones.
I
rate this cigar a 91 and would recommend it to those who like slightly more
full flavored cigars.
